Privacy notice

This website (makairahealth.com)

• We collect nothing. This site has no forms, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts. It sets no cookies.
• Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes the technical data any web request carries (IP address, user agent, requested page) to deliver it and to protect against abuse, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. We do not receive or keep visitor logs.
• Fonts. The page typeface is loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request for the font file under Google's privacy policy. No other third-party resource is loaded.
• E-mail. If you write to us, we keep your message and our reply for as long as the correspondence is useful, and use your address only to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list. Please do not send patient or other medical information by e-mail.

Makaira, the software

Makaira is an electronic medical record used by medical practices. The practice is the covered entity and the owner of its patients' records; Makaira Health, LLC processes that information only as the practice's business associate, under a business associate agreement and the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, and only to provide the service. We do not sell health information, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train artificial-intelligence models. How a practice uses Makaira with its patients is governed by that practice's own notice of privacy practices.

Patients who want to see, correct or obtain a copy of their records, or who have a privacy question about their care, should contact their practice; we will direct any such request we receive to the practice.

Makaira's mobile applications

Makaira's apps are used by the clinicians and staff of practices that run Makaira, signed in to their practice's account, under the same business associate terms as the rest of the record. They contain no advertising or third-party tracking and collect nothing about the device's user beyond what providing, securing and supporting the service requires. Device permissions such as the microphone or camera are used only for the clinical function the user starts, and nothing is kept on the device beyond what the current session needs.

Children

This website is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone. Records of minors held in Makaira belong to the practice treating them.
